Thanks for stopping by Personal Philosophies
Hello, My name is Brent or Brentvs MaXimvs and I am finally getting around to updating this page.

Thanks to anyone who has stopped by in the past month and please continue to send messages as this page has been visited a number of times and very few have left me any mail.

I am doing another page through my local server and I hope to have that up and running ASAP, but they seem to be having some problems with FTP so I have to wait on that.

I have one personal philosophy that I have stuck to over the years and that is "There are certain things I do which no one has to do and I see things in a certain way, but no one has to see them that way and then again, no one has the right to tell me it's immoral, wrong or selfish to do what I do."

That quote is not mine, but it makes a lot of sense to me. You can credit Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood for that one, remember "relax"? That may sound a bit rebellous, but come on - BE A REBEL!!!!!

Another interesting piece of information I have discovered in recent years is to be careful what you ask for, you might get it and then you have to deal with both the good and the bad. I don't complain much about situations I am in because I have, somewhere along the way, chosen to be there, just as you have....so don't complain, You CAN change it.

What I like
I am a writer. I write mostly poetry and short fiction, but at the present time I am working on a novel. This is a difficult undertaking in that I have to gather information on a grand scale and put it all into one place then make it easy to read and interesting. It is also difficult since I am dong it from memories and situations that have occurred with me and with others - it also could be difficult because I have nothing much to write about either, but That will come in time.

I have several favorite writers too, they are Anne Rice, Alice Walker and Yukio Mishima. These three are the closest thing to literature that the modern world has - Anne Rice for her erotic descriptions of New Orleans, Alice Walker for the hardship that she puts forth in her work and Yukio Mishima for his symbolism and descriptions of Japan.

I am heavily into music - I like almost anything from the 70's or 80's as well as techno, house, Euro and of course Rock. Recently I have come across some new music that is good and some that is bad. The first is a group called "Pound" I don't know a whole lot about them, but they are well worth listening to - kind of hard rock bordering on heavy metal. The new Backstreet Boys CD "Millineum" well, it's not so great, but they at least made an effort and the new Ricky Martin CD is pretty good as well, but I latin music is cool anyway.

I like history because the cycle repeats itself over and over. This year is no different because the world was in the same situation in 999 with end of the world prophecies - so bad, in fact, that no crops were grown because "hey, this time next year we don't have to worry. Right?" It was that attitude that caused mass starvation and, well, as you see, we are still thriving as a civilization. And I'm not really worried about what things we'll be like next year anyway. Live for now, live in the present, but please do take SOME caution and prepare for what may happen next.

Computers fascinate me also. I crashed my first one beyond repair last year because I really didn't know what I was doing, but since then I have learned a few more thing about them. Like how and when to avoid the CIH virus - OUCH!!! I have also learned how to use them as a communication tool - Where was this technology ten years ago? Well, anyway, it's here now - so let's make the most of it.

I want to invite you to leave mail at the address below - you can say "hi" or whatever - hey, I'll even accept comments on how this page may suck, but If you would like to chat with me, feel free to leave your ICQ # or AOL IM handle and I'll see if sometime we can't communicate.

So, Until that happens "See Y'all later."

Brent
